A note from Cordecho

Cordecho is winding down

After a good run building a writing tool we believed in, we have decided to stop developing Cordecho. We wanted to say so plainly, here, rather than let the lights go out quietly.

What is happening

Active development has stopped. We are not shipping new features or fixing anything but the most serious problems. Until the shutdown date below, the app stays up and your work stays where you left it.

Cordecho shuts down on October 6, 2026

That is the last day the site and the app will be available. After October 6 you will not be able to sign in or reach your projects, so please export anything you want to keep before then.

Your writing is yours — take it with you

Everything you wrote in Cordecho belongs to you, and it has always been exportable — but only until October 6. Do not leave it to the last day.

Sign in to Cordecho, open a project, and use Export to download it as Markdown or DOCX. You can export a whole project, a single chapter, or one scene. Repeat that for each project you want to keep, and store the files somewhere you control.

Thank you to everyone who outlined a book here, argued with the AI about a scene, and finished a draft that did not exist before. The writing was always the point. Go finish it somewhere else.
